P.S Didn't have Mammy because they never mentioned her name and this is just done with characters from the movie, not the book. Also no Pork.
We can manipulate the spelling?? Yes!!
Girls:
Scarlett vs. Vivien -- I've never ever seen (read? it's a book?) Gone With the Wind, but I do know that it's the reason why Scarlett (with 2 T's) is so much more used than Scarlet (the color). I definitely prefer Scarlet, because I tend to prefer the more subtle, simple versions than dolled up and sissified. So, I also prefer Vivian. I would probably pick... Vivian. Scarlet(t) is nice, but I hear it around a lot more than Vivian. Along with that Scarlet just seems like it would be kind of a "bummer name" if it wasn't used on a redhead... haha
Melanie vs. Olivia -- Melanie! I do like Melanie. Don't love it. But I do dislike Olivia quite a bit. It's pretty overused, and I knew a horrid Olivia...
Ellen vs. Barbara -- Ellen! I really like Ellen. Barbara just reminds me of a store clerk or something, but Ellen is gorgeous and underused compared to all of those other el- names.
Suellen vs. Evelyn -- Evelyn. Suellen just sounds like kind of a hybrid name to me. Not like Evelyn isn't the same way....
Careen vs. Ann -- Careen. I don't love either, but Ann is toooooo simple, and Careen gives me the option of using "Reena" or "Reenie" as a nickname.
Prissy vs. Butterfly -- Haha, wooww this is a hard decision... Prissy, I guess. She's going by Rissa or something... Butterfly doesn't even have any good nickname options... haha
India vs. Alicia -- Alicia. I quite like Alicia. India is too much of a place-name for me. Alicia is nice and pretty underused.
Ashley vs. Leslie -- haha, um, Leslie. You just wait, I'm going to pick that one for a boy too.
Caroline vs. Leona -- Caroline! Leona reminds me too much of that girl that sings that "Bleeding Love" song that's REALLY annoying... haha, I really like Caroline.
Belle vs. Ona -- Belle. Belle is so simple... Bella is annoying, yet I don't know how I can still like Belle... haha, but it's gorgeous. I'm assuming that Ona is the same as Ana (ahn-uh/on-uh), but it always reminds me of this game I used to play about saving money and one of the characters named was "Ana Budget" (on a budget...obviously)
Emmy vs. Isabel -- Isabel. Emmy is a fine nickname, but not as a full name. Isabel is kind of popular, but I love that spelling (or Isobel). So much better than Isabelle. Simple is lovely.
Bonnie vs. Cammie -- Bonnie!! My sister's roommate is named Boonie, and she's great. Cammie sounds like a nickname...that's kind of trendy. Bonnie is grand.
Cathleen vs. Marcella -- Mm... Cathleen, but I don't mind either. I have a friend named Marcella ("Marci").
Maybelle vs. Mary -- Maybelle. Very refreshing, and maple-y.
I do love Mabel (and Sable!), but Mary is pretty overused...
Dolly vs. Jane -- Jane. Dolly reminds me of a certain Ms. Parton.
Guys:
Rhett vs. Clark -- Umm... Rhett. I do like both, but I'll go for Rhett for no apparent reason.
Ashley vs. Leslie -- Leslie!! yayyy!
Gerald vs. Thomas -- Gerald. Thomas is my dad's name... we don't get along all that well, and it's slightly overused IMO.
John vs. Howard -- Howard. John is too overused. Howie is cute... haha
Sam vs. Everett -- Everett!! I love Everett. It's so soft, yet so masculine... Sam is...nickname-y and overused... haha
Charles vs. Rand -- Charles. Rand... wow, never heard that, but I don't really like Randy, and Charlie is great.
Brent vs. George -- Brent, even though it reminds me of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.
Stuart vs. Fred -- Stuart. My grandmother is obsessed with that name. It's every one of my uncle's (and my dad's) middle names, she tried to convince my parents to name their son/my brother (Nathan) Stuart... she is oh so very obsessed with it, and I don't know why. Fred is too average, Frederick would be better, but I don't love it either.
Frank vs. Caroll -- Caroll! haha, it reminds me of that monster from Where the Wild Things Are. Plus, Cary on a man is enchanting...
Jonas vs. Victor -- Victor. I can't get past the Jonas Brothers...
Peter vs. Eddie -- Peter, Eddie is too much of a Twilight-y nickname.
Beau vs. Mickey -- Beau. Mickey is pretty nickname-y, and Beau is kind of attractive-sounding... I knew a great Bo. Very funny, sarcastic guy.
This was amazing, even if I've never seen the movie/read the book.
